Andy,

How is your SIP coming? McCaslin, can you give us any insight about the SIP-writing process for us other Enginurds?

Dr. B introduces his nano-vision

Dr. Broussard gives an overview of why research is important and shares his hopes for the new nano lab. Listen carefully to hear Jeremy McCaslin get a shout out! To check it out, click here.

Thesis or no?

I'm thinking hard about pursuing a Master's degree sans-thesis. I'm having trouble getting really pumped up about any certain type of research, I'm getting more discouraged about the idea of becoming a professor's slave for 2 years, and it would be nice to get out a little faster...

Input?

Guys,

After a random call from Jeremy McCaslin asking me for Thermodynamics problem set solutions, we decided that there needs to be a special way for all of us Shaeffer-ites to keep in better touch as we go to jobs, grad school, and other places where we encounter people with very different definitions of success. I hope that you all will be willing to participate in this engineering blog. Perhaps we will be able to share resources, ideas, and keep each other accountable to continue pursuing God's will in our technical careers.

Plus, I love you guys.

I hope "The Enginurds" is an okay name. I am open to other suggestions.
